Wahiba Sands: where desert dreams await
Waking up early for the traditional goat market, strolling the pottery souks and a spectacular drive to the desert camp of your dreams.

Getting up early for the goat market
Rise and shine! As the first rays of sunlight appear on the horizon, dive into tradition at the bustling goat market in Nizwa. Every Friday, this lively spectacle draws buyers and sellers from across the country. Picture this: a circular arena with thronged spectators negotiating deals. At 7 AM, the start sign is given and the chaos ensues, creating a vibrant atmosphere that is simply unmissable!

Hunting for treasures at the souks
Lose yourself in the charm of Nizwa’s pottery souks. It’s a challenge to resist bringing home one of these beautifully crafted ceramics.
Traditional breakfast
No traditional morning is complete without the rich flavours of an Arabic breakfast! Head to Al Aqur for local culinary delights.

Spending the night in the desert
It’s time to leave Nizwa and travel onwards to a very exciting destination: Wahiba Sands! Probably the experience and stay I’m most excited about. We choose Thousand Nights Camp as our stay, nestled 40km away from the nearest village. After a thrilling drive with our 4x4, we reach the camp and are guided to our Bedouin-style tent. The camp offers excursions like dune bashing, camel safaris and sunset trips. For sunset, we ventured out on our own by climbing the dunes and found a quiet spot just for the two of us.
