Visiting authentic villages and old fortresses
Explore oasis villages in beautiful surroundings and wander through old fortresses.

Visiting the unique village of Misfat al Abriyeen
Charming squares, decorated steel doors and a thriving Falaj irrigation system. That’s Misfat al Abriyeen, a mud village hiding in a palm plantation deep in the Hajar mountains.
Quick stop at Al Hamra
A quick pause at Al Hamra, a mud village built by the same skilled hands that shaped Misfat. Explore the upper part of the village to find abandoned three-storey houses that stood the test of time or opt for a panoramic view from a vantage point by the side of the road.

Discovering Omani hertitage in Bahla
The main attraction in Bahla is its UNESCO-listed huge fortress built from mud. 🏰 It’s one of Oman’s largest and oldest forts, located in a peaceful and quiet region. Quite impressive! It takes 60 to 90 minutes to see the fort and its platforms and chambers.

Watching the sunset from Nizwa fort 🌅
In the evening we visited Nizwa’s fort. Just like the fort in Bahla, the one in Nizwa is a fine example of ancient Omani architecture. What sets this fort apart is the round shape of the fortress tower. The ideal place to enjoy the beautiful sunset after exploring the photogenic fortress and castle.
