Italy
Most famous lake in the Dolomites: Lago di Braies
This morning, we woke up in the cozy mountain hut. After breakfast, we set off towards Val Fiscalina in Sexten. This part of the hike was mostly downhill, leading us into the valley where our shuttle would be waiting around 10:30 AM. The shuttle ride took about 40 minutes, bringing us to one of te most famous lakes in the mountains.

Descent to Val Fiscalina
The day began with a steep descent through the beautiful mountains. The morning sun made it all little more magical. We made our way down to the valley of Val Fiscalina, where we arrived by 10:30 AM. Here we waited for our transfer to take us to the next spot. • Distance: 5 km • Descent: 1540m

Lago di Braies
The shuttle ride took us to one of the most iconic spots in the Dolomites: Lago di Braies. Known for its azure blue waters and charming rowboats, this lake is one of Italy's most famous and beautiful. Seeing it in person was high on my list. It was very crowded, so I guess it’ better to come as early as possible. We hiked around the lake on a 5km long walking path, and enjoyed our lunch next to the lake!

Hike or relax
After the Lago we had two options: start hiking, or make your way to the hotel by public transport. Since the first two days really tired us out, we chose the second option. We slept at an hotel since the foreseen Pederü Hut was overbooked.
