A challenging climb to Tre Cime

The day began with a challenging climb leading us towards the plateau where Tre Cime comes into view. This iconic rock formation is the most visited attraction in the entire area. The closer you get to the three towering peaks (hence the name Tre Cime), the smaller you feel. Photos cannot capture the true majesty of this landscape.

Lunch under the peaks

By midday, we reached the plateau, and it was time for a break and food! We found ourselves a refreshing lake, and heated up some of our foodpacks. Best way to get lots of healty calories in!

Way down we go

In the late afternoon, we continued our journey through beautiful mountain landscapes towards the Zsigmondy hut. When we ascended, the landscape opened up and we got to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. This part of the trail was more relaxed.

Arrival at Zsigmondy Hut

The Zsigmondy hut gave us our first real taste of life in mountain refuges. We spend the rest of the evening relaxing with fellow hikers. The room was pretty crowded, with bunk beds and 24 other people in it. But after today, it wasn’t hard to fall asleep.
