Hiking the Alta Via 1 to Alpe Lagazuoi

Another beautiful day in the Dolomites! At 9:30 AM, we were picked up from the hotel and taken back to the Pederü Hut. From there, we started the next stage of our hike towards Alpe Lagazuoi, following the renowned Alta Via 1 trail. This might be my favorite day of the whole week! • Distance: 17 km • Ascent: 750m • Descent: 631m

Starting from Pederü Hut

We started our hike from Pederü Hut, where we were originally supposed to stay, but it had been overbooked. From the very beginning, the surroundings were beautiful! The trail gradually ascended, which made for a much more enjoyable walk than the previous days. It led us past a waterfall and a lake, and the path was excellent for walking.

Lunch at Lago di Piciodel

About halfway through our hike, we took a well-deserved break at Lago di Piciodel. This peaceful lake was a great spot to chill and enjoy the amazing views. We relaxed, soaked in the atmosphere, and got ready for the rest of the hike.

Arriving at camping Sass Dlacia

After a tough day of hiking, we arrived at Camping Sass Dlacia in the evening, where the tents were already set up. The campsite was surrounded by mountain peaks, making it a cozy spot for the night. We were lucky to find live music and a food truck at the campsite that evening. This let us enjoy a meal together around a campfire, which was super cozy!
