The ride to Pai
Prepare for the most picturesque stretch of the loop, offering countless scenic stops and extraordinary views.

Su Tong Pae Bamboo Bridge
Just a short 12 km drive from Mae Hong Son city, you'll find the Su Tong Pae bamboo bridge. During our visit in February, we were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves almost alone there. Stretching across rice fields and lush greenery, the bridge, entirely made of bamboo, is rebuilt annually by local villagers. Beyond its function as a pathway, it stands as a symbol of community spirit and ingenuity. Plus, one of its highlights? There's no entry fee to pay!" (;

The Pang Mapha Viewpoint
Be sure to make a pit stop at the breathtaking Pang Mapha viewpoint, just a short 43km drive away. Here, you'll find plenty of shops where you can grab some snacks or coffee while enjoying the stunning scenery.

Lunchen Ban Cha Bo Hill
After the pit stop at the viewpoint, you'll have to drive 8.6 km to reach the most scenic lunch spot ever. Arriving around 2 pm, just after lunchtime, ensures you'll find a seat and the place won't be too busy.

Doi Kiew Lom Viewpoint
Located 30.8 km from the lunch stop, you'll encounter another viewpoint. Take your time, purchase some water or other refreshments of your choice, and appreciate the magnificent scenery.

The end destination of the day: PAI
From the viewpoint, it's only a 24 km drive to Pai. Stay for 2 nights to relax before driving the last leg of the loop. We stayed at Pai Village Boutique Resort, and I totally recommend it. It's centrally located, so everything is nearby. Pamper yourself and book a massage at Sapaiya Spa; it's literally one of the best massages I've ever had. For lunch/dinner, I can recommend Cafecito (only open during the day) if you're into Mexican food, Earth Tone for a healthy & delicious meal, Charlie & Lek where you'll find Thai food with a western touch (a little less spicy), the Khao Soi was amazing btw, or head to the Walking Street, also known as the night market in Pai, to find a variety of different options. Go to Jazz House if you fancy live music in a hippie atmosphere." For the sunset, head to Pai Canyon, bring along a snack and a beer, and enjoy watching the sun go down. While it may be crowded, the canyon is spacious enough to find a good spot for viewing the sunset. There are lots of things to do in Pai, you can book probably everything in your hotel or just do what we did, hang by the pool and unwind. (;
