Visit the charming town of Brixen
Loving the mountains but also want to dive into some South-Tyrolean culture? Then make sure to spend one day in Brixen or Bressanone.

Enjoy a local wine tasting at the Neustift Monastery
Before heading to Brixen, make sure to stop at the Neustift Monastery, which dates back to the 12th century, and is thereby not only an architectural gem, but also home to the second oldest wine cellar in all of Italy. With seven acres of vines, they produce about 900.000 bottles of local wine each year, which taste even better when tried right there on their beautiful patio. Taking a tour of the monastery itself is also worthwhile, especially for the fairytale-like library at the heart of it.

Stroll through historic Brixen
Park your car in Parkhaus Stufels, from where you can immediately discover the small but charming oldest part of town. Next, the Eisack bridge leads you to the more vibrant alleyways with cosy shops, local restaurants and religious landmarks such as the Brixner Dom. The best way to discover this town is to simply get lost a little.

Enjoy a typical Brixen dinner
If you're looking to taste Brixen as well, then Restaurant Traubenwirt is the place to be. Not only do they have one of the most idyllic outdoor seating areas in town, their truffle pasta and homemade tiramisu are also to die for.
