Haputale (1 night)
Haputale is a great place to enjoy some piece and quiet. It's a little colder here because it's located at an higher altitude so make sure to bring a sweater on your trip. The views are amazing: tea plantations everywhere around. Haputale isn't very touristy, so you'll enjoy being on your own once in a while. The train from Kandy to Ella stops in Haputale so it's easy to get there.

Lipton's Seat
Haputale is the home of the Lipton's Seat tea plantations. I never thought that tea could be this beautiful. It was absolutely worth the visit. You can just get a tuktuk to drop you off at the top and then walk all the way down, through the tea plantations, to the tea factory where he'll wait for you. I didn't see a lot of other tourists on my 'hike' down, but I met some local tea pluckers that showed me the way. I didn't visit the tea factory because a lot of people told me it was very disappointing: you don't get to taste the tea and you can't take any pictures. So I decided to buy a lot of tea in a small, local shop near the train station.
