Ella is so much fun. You'll meet a lot of other travelers here and - from what I've heard - you can party here too! There are some cute shops, Western-food restaurants but also lots of cool things to do around.
Short hike to Little Adam's Peak
Want to do a little hike? Then put on your walking shoes and climb to the top of Little Adam's Peak, it's not hard and you'll get a great view at the top.
Harry Potter is actually in Sri Lanka
Pay a visit to the Nine Arches Bridge in Ella and you'll truly believe that you've just entered the Harry Potter movies with the train on its way to Hogwarts.
Stay at The Wild Bee Hostel
This is a new hostel and it's really a gem. The dorms are really nice with big beds and enough privacy. The breakfast (French toast) is delicious and it's included in the price! Tip: book a bed inn the 8 bed dorm as it's the one that's on top of the building and it has a better (spectacular) view. Bring a sleep mask because there are no curtains! ;)
Visit a local organic tea garden
Did you know that black tea, green tea and white tea all comes from the same tea plant? And that the peppercorns in your pepper mill grows on trees? And that white pepper and black pepper comes from the same pepper tree? I've learned so much during our visit at the Ella Organic Tea Garden. It's a lovely, local family that shows you around their property.
