Hire a motorcycle

Exploring Chiang Mai by motorbike adds an extra dash of adventure to your journey, and 'TAWAN BIKE' stands out as one of our top recommendations. Run by an old enthusiast man who pours his heart into maintaining these wheels, you can trust that every ride here is both thrilling and safe. While it may come with a slightly higher price tag, the peace of mind and quality service make it worth every penny. We snagged a spacious 160cc scooter for two at just 12 euros/day. Some good advice: go for a scooter with sufficient power, because you'll drive through mountainous terrain. If solo ventures aren't your thing, don't worry; many guesthouses and hostels also offer motorbike rentals. Just remember your passport and driver's license, and give your potential ride a thorough once-over to ensure a smooth journey ahead. (; The key to renting a scooter in Thailand is to either arrive right when the shops open or just before they close. Booking online isn't necessary as many shops lack reliable reservation systems and may forget your reservation.

Check-in at Pakping hostel

At this accommodation, you have the option to rent either a private room or a dormitory. The facilities are impeccably clean, and the hosts are truly exceptional—they go above and beyond to assist with anything you need. They even offer the convenience of storing any luggage you don't require for your motorbike loop for a very small fee.

Sunday night market & rooftop bar

If you find yourself in Chiang Mai on a Sunday, prepare for a delightful experience. The Sunday night market kicks off at 5 pm and runs until around 10 pm, offering the largest market in town where you can indulge in street food delights or explore the diverse array of shops. For a rooftop bar with a view of the Sunday night market, head to 'Thapae Grill'. To secure a seat, it's best to arrive before 5 pm. The cocktails aren't that spectacular but the view is nice.
