Thailand
Drive your first leg of the loop
Have breakfast in Chiang Mai, visit Phachor, go chasing waterfalls, and end the day in one of my favorite homestays in Thailand.

Have breakfast
Start your day early with a relaxing breakfast at 'My Secret Cafe in Town'. Located just a 450-meter walk from Pakping Hostel, it boasts a charming patio where you can savor delicious coffee and croissants before embarking on your motorcycle trip.

First stop: PhaChor
It's a 51km drive from Chiang Mai to PhaChor, typically taking around an hour. We opted to drive this loop clockwise because the road between Pai and Chiang Mai is the most challenging, with numerous turns and heavy traffic. Starting clockwise allows you to gradually acclimate to your motorbike and the Thai way of driving, ending with the most difficult part of the journey. If you have time enough: add Mae Ya Waterfall on your route.

Check-in at Motho homestay
One of my favorite stays in Thailand: it feels very local and peaceful, and it's cheap, clean, and hosted by very friendly hosts. For dinner, head to the only restaurant in town, บ้าน ดีเชอ อาหารอิตาเลียน หนองหล่มอินทนท์, an Italian establishment. The Thai owner, who worked for over 10 years in a restaurant in Italy, ensures a delightful, local dining experience. It's just a 220-meter walk from the homestay and easy to find on Google Maps.
