A delicious breakfast at Nerudova Café 211
Breakfast at the café attached to the hotel is fantastic. You can enjoy breakfast here between 8 am and 2:30 pm, even if you’re not staying at the hotel, so it’s a real must-visit! The café itself is super charming, the service is very friendly, and the food is divine. We tried a whole range of dishes: eggs Benedict, French toast, granola bowl, fruit bowl, pancakes… and everything was delicious! My favorite? The French toast and the granola bowl!

Discovering Prague's Old Town with the Astronomical Clock 🕰
Prague's Old Town is a collection of beautiful, historic buildings and neighborhoods. It's also colorful, with lovely pastel hues and decorative details. We strolled past the Powder Tower and went to take a look at the Astronomical Clock. At the top of the hour, the square fills up with people eager to see the figures move as the clock strikes. The clock itself is stunning, and the figures are like the cherry on top.
The Playground: the biggest toy store with its own butterfly garden 🦋
One of the most impressive toy stores I’ve ever seen, and an absolute heaven for my kids. You walk in between enormous figurines, a moving dinosaur, a carousel, and a giant slide that runs through the entire store, with plenty of small stands where you can try out the toys. It’s impossible to get out of here in just 30 minutes with kids! On the first floor, there’s even a laser game arena and a real butterfly garden (for an extra fee). We visited the butterfly garden, and the kids loved being so close to the butterflies. Of course, we couldn’t leave the store without the kids choosing a small gift, which was fantastically promoted by the staff. A masterclass in marketing ;-).
Waffles in every different way at ‘Coffee & Waffles’ 🧇
At ‘Coffee & Waffles,’ you can enjoy all-day breakfast and waffles in every possible variety, with all the toppings you can imagine. It’s a lovely place to sit, with something for everyone. The kids went for waffles with Oreo and Nutella, while we opted for omelets with toppings like salmon and avocado. There’s also a small terrace outside. A great spot to take a break!

Pedal boating on the Moldau river
One of the most fun things to do in Prague on a warm day? Pedal boating on the Moldau! There are three pedal boat rental places side by side; we chose the middle one, which turned out to be the cheapest of the three. Be aware, though, that it’s cash-only. We picked a pedal boat with lounge chairs. The kids wanted to steer, and luckily there’s plenty of space on the river to get the hang of it. You get instructions on how far you’re allowed to go (for example, not under Charles Bridge), and then we were off for an hour of fun on the water! You can paddle around the little islands, offering something new to see at every turn. You can even spot the Dancing House from the water, a great way to admire this landmark in peace.

Dining at the idyllic Piknik Park restaurant 🌳
Looking for an idyllic yet accessible restaurant? Piknik Park is a real gem. This Italian restaurant offers a refined menu with some surprising dishes, but the kids also found something they loved. The pinsas were delicious, and we enjoyed dining on the beautiful terrace next to a small stream in the park. Here, you’d never guess you’re in a big city—it’s truly an oasis of green. The lemon sorbet was a hit as dessert. A perfect evening at a wonderful restaurant.
