Isle of Skye - Applecross
Today, we are driving a part of the NC500 route. This is a stunning 516-mile route around the north coast of Scotland.

Fairy Glen
The first stop of the day is The Fairy Glen, an enchanting landscape, as the name suggests. Endless hills which look a bit like the Teletubbie hills.

This is Scotland 🤯
Next, you can take the iconic Quiraing hike, a popular trail through the Quiraing mountain formations. It offers incredible views of the mountains and the sea. The landscapes of Skye are very dramatic!

Brothers Point
Don’t forget to enjoy the view of the waterfall at Brothers Point. The following stop is the Old Man of Storr, an impressive rock formation high up in the mountains. You can choose between two hikes to go up, and they may take a while. Unfortunately, due to the terrible weather we experienced, we had to skip this part. Next time!

Applecross route
From here, you drive along the Applecross route, or 'Bealach na Ba', known for its stunning views and challenging curves. Stop at the Bealach na Ba Viewpoint to get an overview of the route.

Sandy & windy
A bit further on, you will come across Applecross Sands. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh air at the beautiful beach :)

First night of wild camping!
We found a beautiful spot past Fearnmore. Travelbase recommends several spots via the app, each one worth the visit. While cooking, we were surprised by wild deer that came right up to the car. It was a truly wonderful moment that we won’t forget anytime soon.
