Table Mountain is a mountain in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Because the mountain is flat yet dominates its surroundings, it offers one of the most spectacular views of the city of Cape Town, Robben Island and Table Bay. This prominent landmark with its rocky landscape is also part of the Table Mountain National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I recommend going either in the morning, before it gets busier, or in the late afternoon so you can enjoy the sunset on the mountain. You can go up the mountain on foot or by cable car. The ticket price varies from R60 to R395, depending on the time of your visit, your age and whether you book a return or one-way ticket. Advantages of the cable car: it only takes 5 minutes to get to the top and you have 360-degree views all the way up.
