The best way to explore the Paracas National Reserve at the coast of Peru is by bike. Paracas has a lot of bike rentals. Compare and choose the best place, ask for a map and get started. The routes are very simple and all roads are really accessible. We did a tour of about 35 kms, starting in Paracas center with La Catedral and Playa La Mina as the furthest points. Enjoy the desolate roads that lead you to this special natural area where sea meets desert. Bring a birdwatching guide if you're interested, because you will see thousands of birds. Inca terns, peruvian boobies, pelicans, turkey vultures,.. Skip playa Roja and go to Playa la Mina for a short swim in the ocean. It is supposed to be the most beautiful beach of Peru, but don't be fooled. You're here for the stretched out desert sceneries, the vast ocean, the company of the birds and sore legs from the bike trip.
