Oysters & seafood at Salt in Kanazawa

Salt Seafood & Oyster Bar in Kanazawa offers a truly local experience, with an all-Japanese menu that immerses you in Japanese culture. The staff are super friendly and happy to help, from the moment we entered we felt right at home. The modern interior, coupled with traditional elements, creates a cozy and enjoyable dining atmosphere. We started our date night with two glasses of prosecco. If we liked the prosecco, we planned to order some white wine too. Minutes later, we were delighted with the prosecco and indeed ordered a carafe of white wine. It was really good, too! For an appetizer, we ordered amazing raw oysters and two grilled oysters – absolutely delicious! We also ordered what we thought (based on Google Translate) would be a unique potato and truffle dish. It turned out to be french fries topped with truffle pieces. Even this simple dish was quite tasty! In a sharing mood, we decided to try several smaller dishes to get a sense of the variety and quality. Every dish we ordered was fantastic! Our favorites were the oyster ajillo and fried oysters. However, the best dish by far was Noto's Drop. This dish features three large, fresh oysters prepared in different ways: one with the signature "Salt" flavor, another garlic-based, and the third with harissa. We couldn’t choose our favorite between the garlic and harissa flavors – both outstanding. Noto's Drop is a must-order dish. As the saying goes: when in Kanazawa, eat seafood. For this, Salt is the place to be!
