You will spend the night tonight at Ecolodge de Koba, a small oasis of peace located in the middle of nowhere. The camp consists of about twenty traditional huts, each with its own open-air sanitary facilities. I suggest arriving in the late afternoon, as it gets really hot here. Once you arrive, explore your hut, enjoy a drink, and relax under the tree before heading out to visit the nearby village at sunset for a rhythmic dance. We met some villagers and it quickly turned into a dance party. We shared this moment with them, and it was truly special to see how they spend their free time and experience their vibrant culture.
The hut was super comfy, and the outdoor showers and toilets were a unique touch. The food was excellent, and the owner was incredibly friendly, with lots of fascinating stories to share!
Getting there is easy too—Brussels Airlines flies direct from Brussels to Dakar several times a week. Smooth, simple, and straight to the sun.
