Located on the Lagune de la Somone, this lodge/hotel is really beautiful and feels quite luxurious. It sits on a large property with its own private wildlife reserve. Every day, animals are fed on site and guests can watch this moment, which adds something special to the stay.
The main building houses the reception, restaurant, and pool area, while the rooms are small cabins spread across the property. We had one with a private pool, which was the perfect way to end our trip on a high note after days of camping and enjoying the local vibe.
The food is also excellent. This peaceful place is ideal for recharging and enjoying the calm beauty of the Lagune de la Somone. The hotel has its own private access to the lagoon, where a boat can pick you up or drop you off if you'd like to reach a restaurant in the bay, like Chez Malick (see my experience about it).
Getting there is easy too. Brussels Airlines flies direct from Brussels to Dakar several times a week. Smooth, simple, and straight to the sun.
