Day 3: Discovering East Berlin
Visit Holzmarkt 25, East Side Gallery and Boxhagener Platz. Have drinks on one of the most cool rooftop bars in Berlin.
Visit Holzmarkt 25
Holzmarkt 25 is a urban cooperative project on the banks of the river Spree. This small 'village' overlooks the river and offers several food and beverage stands as well as random 'artsy things'.
East Side Gallery
The East Side Gallery is a graffiti project by 118 artists who painted part of the Berlin Wall in honor of the fall.
Boxhagener Platz
Go to Boxhagener Platz, a square where there is on Saturday a commodity market and on Sunday a flea market. Around the square are several nice bars and restaurants for a drink or lunch. On the way to this square, we also walked past another flea market that is located around RAW-Gelände on Google Maps.
Rooftop bar : Monkey Bar
This rooftop bar overlooks the monkeys at the Berlin Zoo and serves nice cocktails and snacks.
Dinner at A Mano
We had dinner at A Mano, an Italian restaurant. It was truly amazing as I had one of the best pastas in my life!
