Germany
A day filled with history
Start your first day with some important landmarks in the history of Berlin.

Hotel Gat Point Charlie
We stayed at the Hotel Gat Point Charlie. The hotel has basic, clean rooms and offers breakfast (not free). Although it is located in the center of Berlin, it is not noisy in this neighbourhood. The perfect location to start your perfect city trip!
You will see the Bethlehemkirchplatz across the street of the hotel!

Bethlehemkirchplatz
The Bethlehemkirchplatz is an illuminated sculpture which remembers the destroyed Bohemian Bethlehem Church. The church was built as a homestead for refuges and other foreigners. Today, a mosaic in the pavement of the Bethlehemkirchplatz shows the ground plan of the former church. The sculpture called the " Houseball" symbolizes all the household goods that a refugee might be able to carry.
Pass by Checkpoint Charly, the crossing point between East and West Berlin and now the symbol of the Cold War. Side note: We heared that the Checkpoint Charlie museum is not worth the visit.

Brunch at Distrikt coffee
Have breakfast at this trendy, industrial café full of plants. They have an all-day breakfast and lunch menu, serve quality coffee and sell bread & pastries from local artisanal bakeries.

Potsdamer Platz
A small piece of the Berliner Wall Potsdamer Platz became one of the earliest locations where the Wall was breached to create a new border crossing between East and West Berlin. Now it is a square full of entertainment, restaurants and shops.

Brandenburger Tor
The Brandenburg Gate was once a city gate into Berlin and is now the only remaining gate through which people used to enter the city. Nowadays, it is one of the most important symbols of Berlin and an emblem of peace. It is very close to Potsdamer Platz. Stop at the foot of the gate to take a picture of one of the most renowned monuments of Berlin!

Memorial of the murdered jews of Europe
A famous memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. It consists of a square site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs arranged in a grid pattern. This is a must visit when you come to Berlin!

Go for spaghetti at Gorgonzola club!
The best pasta in town! People are in line to eat in this restaurant!

End the day with a beer in Kremanski
Go for a typical German beer in the Kremanski bar, a nice lay-back bar in the same street as the Gorgonzola club.
