Brunch in Rome

Italians don’t really do breakfast. But since we wanted to have at least one morning a brunch, we went for Vivi Bistrot: a Roman chain with 3-4 locations and specialized in brunch and lunch. We went for the one at Piazza Venezia.

Circo Massimo

In the old Roman Empire the Circo Massimo was known for its legendary horse races and games. Today you can still visit this site and if you want you can travel in time with a virtual reality experience that shows you how these races were 2.000 years ago.

The Colosseum

A must while visiting Rome. We were a little bit late in booking our tickets in advance (1 week before traveling is late by the way…) so we went for a combination ticket for Colosseum and Roman Forum. But if you search in advance you can visite the Colosseum with more unique experiences like at night or with entrance to the undergrounds. Still it is impressive to see one of the world’s most iconic buildings with your own eyes.

The Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

Just next to the Colosseum you’ll find the Roman Forum. In this area the modern world found it’s foundations. It was in this ancient swamp that Romulus & Remus founded a new settlement that grew to what we now know as the famous city of Rome.

Last Roman pasta

In the evening we went back to the area around Via del Governo Vecchio for a delicious pasta carbonara and polpette at a little restaurant in a street called Vicolo della Cancelleria. There are 3-4 cosy restaurants all looking good. 🍝
