In just over 7 hours, we traded the airport of Brussels for the rolling hills of Rwanda. Known as the Land of a Thousand Hills, this country’s beauty hit us the moment we arrived. This trip took us from the wilds of Akagera National Park, where you can spot the Big Five in their element, to the mist-covered mountains of Volcanoes National Park. Whether it was cycling through the hilly landscapes or getting up close with chimpanzees in the rainforest, each day was a deep dive into everything this country has to offer. Along the way, we also encountered the country’s profound history and the kindness of its people, which will stay with you long after you’ve returned home.
