The recently renovated Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge is located 5 minutes from the Cotopaxi National Park entrance in the Ecuadorian Andes highlands. The lodge is surrounded by beautiful nature. When you look around, all you see are cows, horses, and volcanoes. 🌋 Built from local materials, Chilcabamba is cosy, unpretentious and charming. Everything is so well-styled and beautifully decorated. The common area has cosy areas to relax, where you immediately feel at home. From every corner, you catch stunning views of the Cotopaxi volcano. At night, you can sit by the campfire and gaze at the stars. ✨ The rooms are comfortable and equipped with a wood-burning stove, which the staff light for you while you’re on a day trip. There are nice walking trails around the area where to discover the local flora and a trout pond. The kitchen offers delicate cuisine from breakfast to dinner. At breakfast, you get fresh fruits, granola, yoghurt, a different egg dish every day, pancakes, juice, coffee and tea. For lunch, you can choose a dish from the menu and in the evening they work with a delicious three-course menu. 😋 Chilcabamba is the perfect base to visit the Cotopaxi National Park and you can easily book tours with the hotel: horseback riding, easy and demanding climbs of the surrounding volcanoes, exploring rivers and waterfalls, mountain biking, … I can definitely recommend the hiking day trip to the Cotopaxi volcano! 🥾
