Kura Sushi: the best conveyor belt sushi in Tokyo

Food & drinks

When in Japan, eat sushi, right? That was our motto at least from the moment we set foot in Tokyo! We tried everything, from fancy sushi restaurants to local places, and the one that stuck with us most was Kura Sushi. Don't be taken back by the fact this is conveyor belt sushi. The food, interior, and whole experience will blow you away! The first thing we noticed when we entered was how clean, modern, and beautiful the interior was. We visited the flagship store in Asakusa, and highly recommend you do the same. The sleek, wooden interior was something we've never seen before in a restaurant. For seating, you can choose to sit next to each other at the counter, or sit at one of the many booths if you're after some privacy. For us, sitting at a booth was the perfect choice because we wanted to have a romantic date night. Now, if you thought the interior was the star of the show, you're mistaken. The food is even better! Every booth or seat comes with a tablet that you can use to order food, and you better believe we made use of it. We literally went over every item on the menu, and ordered at least 20 plates. Whether it was fatty tuna, shrimp tempura, or unagi, it was all so fresh and delicious. The benefit of ordering via the tablet is that the chefs in the kitchen will make your order fresh and to your liking! So yummy. And if you want to know the best part of it all, it's the price. We paid around € 15 for both of us, drinks included whilst eating as much as we could!
