During the private tour of Tarragona, I discovered a city full of surprises, where ancient history and contemporary charm come together. We started at the impressive cathedral, which shines like a true gem above the city. Then we wandered through Roman ruins, along the amphitheater with a great view of the sea, and the old city walls that still breathe the Roman past. During the walk, we passed by the oldest shop in Tarragona, Casa Corderet, founded in 1751. The owner proudly posed in front of his shop. We also took a look in a bookstore where you could still see the old Roman walls. The best came at the end: a stop at the cozy market hall, full of local tapas and delicacies. A delightful way to end the day and truly taste Tarragona!
Tarragona, once known as Tarraco, was one of the most important Roman cities in Spain. The amphitheater, the forum, and the old city walls are well preserved. These monuments show how important the city was in the Roman Empire.
A guided tour gives you a different perspective on visiting a city. In a city full of history, I would definitely recommend this.
