Exploring a city with a guide and by bike is, in my opinion, the best way to do it. We have already done this in Bangkok (Thailand), Bogota (Colombia), Antigua (Guatemala), Barcelona, New York, and during our last vacation in Palermo (Sicily).
You discover a city in a different way and learn a lot from the local guide who takes you through his/her city. The tour is also diverse because the guide talks a lot about the history of a city, the historical buildings, the different neighborhoods, the street art, the local traditions, and delicacies. During the tour, you also stop to taste local delicacies.
In Palermo, we booked our tour with Baja Bikes, just like in Barcelona. The bike tour lasts about 3 hours and is suitable for all levels as you mainly move at a slow pace with various stops through the city.
You can easily reserve online and pay on-site at the departure point. The departure point is located in the center of Palermo. We also all received an earpiece so that we could hear the guide well during the explanation. The tour was in English and we were about 16 people.
A real must-see!
