Armenia, a small yet historically rich country nestled in the Caucasus region, was once part of the Soviet Union and has a history dating back thousands of years. Its capital, Yerevan, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Armenia’s official language is Armenian, and the country uses the dram (AMD) as its currency. Known for its stunning landscapes, Armenia is also home to countless churches—over 4,000 at the height of its religious influence—making it a significant destination for those interested in history and culture. For this trip, I took a bus from Zagreb to Vienna, where I then boarded a flight to Yerevan, Armenia's capital. After spending five enriching days exploring this fascinating country, I made the return journey in reverse: flying from Yerevan to Vienna, and then taking a bus from Vienna back to Zagreb. One of the highlights of this trip was the ease of entry into Armenia. As a Croatian citizen, I didn’t require a visa, which made the journey more convenient compared to my previous trip to neighboring Azerbaijan, where a visa was necessary.
