South Africa
Arrival in Graskop, the base of the famous Panorama route
The first day(s) of this roadtrip will take you along the beautiful panoramaroute, which is already one of the highlights of South Africa. Pick up your car and drive from Johannesburg to Graskop, the base of this route.

Arrival in Johannesburg
Some people decide to only explore Cape Town's region, we definitely wanted to see as much as we could in three weeks. Therefore, we decided to fly to Johannesburg and make it all the way down to Cape Town. The flight from Brussels to Johannesburg will take around +/- 12 hours (a stop in Cairo included) and will normally arrive early in the morning. The good part about South Africa: there's no time difference so you won't have to deal with a jetlag. So get ready to start you first day of this roadtrip right away.

Check in at Rustique Guesthouse
Besides Hoedspruit and Nelspruit, Graskop is a popular base to start the Panorama Route. From the airport in Johannesburg, it will take a little bit over 4 hours to get there. During our planning, we stumbled upon this cute, little guesthouse in Graskop, called Rustique. It's just the perfect place for the start of this roadtrip. So get some rest, explore Graskop's little town and its restaurants and get your batteries fully charged here for the next days.
