Japan
Harajuku & Meiji
Traditional breakfast, busy streets, beautiful shops and a calm temple.

Breakfast at Heckeln
Walk to the famous and very traditional breakfast place ‘Heckeln’ via Shimbashi station. This walk takes you to very photogenic streets. Once arrived, be served by the 82-year old owner & his wife, famous for how they make custard pudding. He looks like a wizard preparing them 🍮 Loved this traditional experience. Good to know: it has to be quiet inside. You really go for the eating & drinking coffee itself, not for coziness between friends 😉. Yet so worth it (be prepared to wait in line for a bit though).

Explore the Harajuku neighbourhood
I did another walk of Time to Momo: the Harajuku one this time. It lead me to all amazing places in this special area of the city & these are the highlights: • The Omotesando streets for beautiful shops & a quieter Tokyo • A beautiful mall exit full of mirrors called Tokyo Plaza Harajuku • The famous Takeshita street filled with colourful snacks & rather weird shops 😄

Discover Yoyogi Park & the Meiji shrine
Walking out of Harajuku leaves you in the peaceful, green area of the Yoyogi Park and its Meiji shrine. What a contrast! This park is highly worth to walk around in, as well as visiting the (small) shrine.

Craziness of Shinjuku
For the final part of the day and once it gets dark, head to Shinjuku. It’s the liveliest part of Tokyo at night and filled with billboards > one of them even a 3D one!
