The Mercier Champagne House tour is a unique adventure that begins with a brief history of the brand and its innovative founder, Eugène Mercier. Visitors then descend into the impressive network of cellars, which lie 30 meters below the surface. These cellars, stretching over 18 kilometers, are among the largest in the Champagne region. One of the highlights of the Mercier experience is the guided train tour through these vast, chalk-carved cellars. The train ride, accompanied by an audio guide available in multiple languages, allows visitors to see the aging bottles and learn about the champagne-making process, from the initial fermentation to the final bottling. The cellars also showcase some of the remarkable artworks commissioned by Eugène Mercier, including large-scale sculptures and carvings. After the underground adventure, guests are welcomed into the tasting room, where they can sample some of Mercier's finest champagnes. The tasting typically includes a selection of the house’s non-vintage cuvées, such as the classic Mercier Brut, known for its lightness and freshness, the Blanc de Noirs, known for its rich and robust character, and the Brut Rosé, known for its vibrant fruit notes and elegance.
