Landscape without borders
Your second day in Hoogstraten is all about unwinding in nature. From your B&B, you can easily walk into the nature reserve of Elsakker, Strijbeekse Heide, and Chaamse Beek for a refreshing hike (8 km). The route takes you through old smuggling paths across a beautifully varied landscape. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a flock of sheep or grazing cattle that keep the nature reserve in top condition.
Burgundian enjoyment at De Smokkelaar
In the middle of this beautiful nature area, you come across the renovated farm of Het Smokkelaartje. The perfect address to recharge your batteries with salads, toasties, and Burgundian croquettes. You suspected it already: the hospitality of the Brabant northern neighbors is just as great as in Hoogstraten!
Walk further to Kerkstraat 4 in the center of Meerle (850 meters).
Nakaarten in De Posthoorn
Wrap up your 48 hours in Hoogstraten at De Posthoorn: a no-frills local pub where you immediately feel at ease. Settle on the terrace, take off your hiking shoes, and let yourself be tempted by one of the more than 40 beers on the menu. Cheers!
