Egypt
Ancient History
The first thing that probably will come to your mind when you think "Egypt" is pyramids. Well that is what we're visiting today!

The Pyramids and Great Sphinx of Giza
The first thing onthe list is visiting the Pyramids, because it will get VERY crowded later on the day and depending what time a year you visit it gets very hot aswell. I visited in February and temperature was perfect, but did need to bring a sweater because it was very windy. The pyramids are located just on the outskirt of the city and you can easily visit by yourself by ordering an uber to drive you there and buy tickets in advance on the website. If you don't want to organise everything by yourself there are plenty of tours to pick from on Getyourguide or Viator for example. Egypt is very known for its harassing and at the Pyramids it's no different. Be prepared to be harassed at all times even if you politely decline. Getting around is definitely doable on foot. You will need a full morning to cover these grounds since it is HUGE. You can also opt to go inside of one of the pyramids which was around €8 but tbh there is not much to see, it's VERY hot inside and you can't be claustrofobic. Stay at: Sheet Hostel (cheap) Pharaohs hotel (mid-range) Jimmypyramidsview (luxury)
Order an Uber (unless you booked with a tour)

Pyramids of Saqqarah
In the afternoon it's time to visit the Pyramids of Saqqarah, the first pyramid that's been build. Entry was around 60EGP which is only €1,85! So def worth a visit. This is an open air museum, so also quite big. In some of the pyramids you can also enter so you have an idea how it looks like from the inside.

Memphis
The ancient city of Memphis is located just 20km outside Caïro. One of the most famous attractions in Memphis is the Alabaster Sphinx, a colossal statue carved from a single piece of alabaster stone. The Open-Air Museum also has a statue of Ramses II. Entrance fee is 80 EGP (which is only 2,50 euro) so def worth a visit!

Eat one of the most traditional dishes in Egypt
Koshari is a delicious and popular Egyptian dish that you cannot not eat when you're in Egypt! It's a hearty and satisfying meal made from a mixture of pasta, rice, lentils, and chickpeas, topped with a flavorful tomato sauce and garnished with crispy fried onions. And it's mega cheap! Only around 40 EGP (1,20euro) for a full plate. You'll probably find Koshari in every restaurant you go to, but "Koshari Abou Tarek" is one of the best ones in the city!
